Southern Visionary Art was established in Pensacola, Florida in

August 2003, as an online folk art gallery specializing in

southern folk art including such varied designations as outsider

art, self-taught art, primitive art, visionary art and regional

southern folk art to name a few. The gallery is a family owned

11.06.14: It is with great sorrow that we mark the passing of yet another member of the old guard of American folk art - Bernice Sims. She was a gentle spirit as well as talented artist. In her honor and memory:

I am not there

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the snow on the mountain's rim,
I am the laughter in children's eyes,
I am the sand at the water's edge,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle Autumn rain,
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the star that shines at night,
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
